The walk is around 7.2 miles in the morning following the River Stour to Cavendish and the upland route returning to Clare for lunch at The Cock Inn. The afternoon is a 4 mile circuit to the east of Clare. For those of you interested, Café Clare should be open for tea and cakes!

Directions – A1307 to Haverhill, Haverhill bypass and, after Sturmer (at Baythorn End) you will see the left turn to Clare on the A1092. The road goes through Stoke by Clare and then reaches Clare. Proceed through Clare and just before the shops you will see a turn on the right (signposted) to Clare Country Park (narrow turn). Go down here and park in the Country Park Car Park. (£1.50 all day).
