My walk on Thursday 30th August is a figure of 8 based on the Red Lion pub in Preston, Herts – the first community-owned pub in the UK. The 14 mile walk will be split 8 miles am and 6 pm.

Directions from the Cambridge area: head for the A505 and Baldock bypass. Join the A1(S) for just one junction and come off at Stevenage North, turning right at the roundabout to pick up the A602 towards Hitchin. Follow this for around 2.5 miles to the first roundabout and take the 2nd exit, Gosmore Road. Follow the signs to Preston, (a further 2.5 miles). The pub is on the village green. The grid reference is 181247 and the address for Satnav purposes is School Lane SG4 7UD.

I have arranged with the pub that people can order lunch on arrival. Anyone just wanting the pm walk should be at the pub by 13.45.
