The walk starts from Patmore Heath – SG11 2LS, TL 441 257.
It is about 13 miles long ( 7.5 a.m., 5.5 p.m.)  We go NW through Hertfordshire countryside skirting Great Hormead and stopping for lunch at The Tap in Furneux Pelham.  In the afternoon we return via Stocking Pelham.
Patmore Heath is reached by taking the M11, then taking the A120 towards Little Hadham. Here turn right and take Albury Road for 2 miles. When reach Gravesend turn right at Catherine Wheel. The Heath is 200 yds down narrow lane. Park on Heath or on road.
If you want a more picturesque route you can come via Newport taking the B1038 towards Clavering. At Clavering take left hand Road towards Manuden then in about a mile turn right to Berden and the Pelhams. This continues for just under 4 miles to reach Gravesend where you turn left at the Catherine Wheel.
