The walk starts from Nowton Park, Bury Road, Nowton, Bury St Edmunds IP29 5LU. The easiest approach is from the third, most easterly, BStE junction on the A14. If coming from the west, turn right at the roundabout onto the A134. Keep on the A134 over the next roundabout. At the following roundabout take the second exit, A1302 and very soon, at the next roundabout take the first left. When the road forks keep left  (after about 500 yards) and the Nowton Park car park is on the left in a further 400 yards. There is a £2 P&D charge per car. There are toilets and a cafe next to the car park.

The walk goes via Horringer into Ickworth Park for a circuit before lunch. The West Wing cafe is self-service, but if people want to bring along a sandwich then it should be possible to get a drink at the outdoor Porter’s Lodge cafe. The return walk goes via Nowton and back to a short circuit of Nowton Park. Around 8 miles am and 5 miles pm.
