This 13 mile walk starts at the Houghton Mill car park (PE28 2AZ) which is signposted off A1123 between St Ives and Huntingdon. Parking is free for NT members and is £2 per day for non-members.

The morning walk takes us along the Ouse Valley Way to Godmanchester for coffee by the Chinese Bridge.  Public toilets here. Then towards Hemingford Abbots for lunch at the Axe and Compass. The afternoon walk continues to Hemingford Grey and St Ives and back along the Thicket to Houghton Mill. The Houghton Mill cafe serves cream teas.

The Axe and Compass has an extensive lunch menu but the snacks are pretty good with walkers’ platters to share, sandwiches and soup.
