The Cricketers pub car park, Arkesden Road (Clavering Lane), Clavering CB11 4QT
From Cambridge take A1307 past Wandlebury until reach roundabout with A11. Turn right onto A11, coming off at Stump Cross before M11. Take B1383 from Stump Cross through Littlebury to Newport then turn right just past zebra crossing onto B1038 signed Buntingford through Wicken Bonhunt to Clavering. The Cricketers Pub is on the right just before the road goes left. Turn right onto the Arkesden Road past the Cricketers Pub and immediately left into the Cricketers overflow car park.
Please order your lunch in the Cricketers before we leave from the car park at 10.00. Toilets will be available in the pub.
The walk is a figure of 8, about 13.25 miles, 8 before lunch and 5.25 after lunch. Anyone wishing to join for the afternoon only could meet us at The Cricketers at 2pm. The morning passes the site of Clavering Castle, Deer’s Green, Ford End, Dewes Green and Perimead. The afternoon passes through Clavering Lakes and Jamie Oliver’s garden.
