This is a 13+ mile walk  from Clare to Stansfield via Poslingford , with  around 8 miles in the morning and 5 miles in the afternoon.

Lunch  at The Compasses, Stansfield.  A slightly quirky pub but a real pub!  The Compasses is opening especially for us as only opens lunchtimes if booked so please support them!  The landlord would like food orders on Tuesday so please let me your food choice by noon on 12 July.  It will be possible to ring through an odd order or two on the day (but not cooked food).

A1307 to Haverhill, Haverhill bypass and, after Sturmer (at Baythorn End) you will see the left turn to Clare on the A1092.  The road goes through Stoke by Clare and then reaches Clare.      Proceed through Clare and just before the shops you will see a turn on the right (signposted) to Clare Country Park (narrow turn).    Go down here and park in the Country Park Car Park.
