Gillian will lead a muddy walk from Anstey Village Hall.  12.5 miles.  7 in the morning to the Woodman in Nuthampstead  which does everything you could wish for at lunchtime. You may google The Woodman Inn , Nuthampstead for menu details.

 We shall start from the car park of the Village Hall.  This is a very small park, and the roads in the village are narrow.   So, please, share cars as much as possible.    I have agreed to charge £2 per car in aid of the church at the request of the Parish Council.  The church has considerable historic interest, and is open.  The Village Hall postcode is SG9 0BY. 

 The easiest way to reach this is to go through Barkway on the B1368.  At the south end of the village you pass the Tally Ho pub.   Keep going from here for another 2 miles. Ignore signs to Nuthampstead/Anstey.   Go on past the Anstey Quarry on the left and the turn to Wyddial on the right.  Then there is a turn on the left to Anstey, which is not pre-signed…..  so don’t miss it!   This is just under 2m from the S end of Barkway.   It will bring you into the south end of Anstey (ignore turn to Brent Pelham) and the Village Hall car park is at the bottom of the hill on the left, before the church/school.  No toilets!

 If you want a shorter afternoon walk, you can just do c 2 miles direct from the pub to the car park.
