Meet at Girton Parish Council Pavilion Car Park CB3 0FH at 10am.

To get to Girton, exit Cambridge on the north-west-bound Huntingdon Road. Turn right at Girton College and continue along Girton Road over the A14. The right turn into the Parish Council / recreation ground car park is just before St. Andrew’s Church.

We will be walking through Girton Millennium Wood and Girton Wood up to the Guided Busway, which we will cross to walk through Histon and Impington Community Orchard. We will then proceed through Histon to Croft Close Set Aside and Long Meadow, both community wildlife projects. We will re-cross the Busway and take a different path alongside Beck Brook back to our starting point.

Please note that I have not yet fully recced the route. There are two potential short cuts, each of 2.5 – 3 miles, but these do require a slightly longer walk along the Busway. Alternatively, if there is a pleasant cafe in Histon, you can wait there, and I will come and collect you at the end. I will know what is available after 9 July. As far as I am aware, there are no stiles, but there is a narrow village road in Histon with no pavement.
