From Cambridge, take the A603 heading south-west to reach the Eversdens/Harlton staggered crossroads (La Pergola/Wheatsheaf restaurant on left). Turn right heading for Little/Great Eversden. In 750 yards, turn right into Little Eversden High Street. Parking is 150 yards down that road, on the righthand side, next to an open field (please avoid parking directly opposite house driveway entrances on the other side of the road). Nearest postcode: CB23 1HE.

The walk starts at 10.00 am. It is a series of loops in the countryside around Little Eversden and Great Eversden, including a short section of the Mare Way ridge line (great views), on generally good tracks and footpaths. Likely some mud in places but nothing too bad and no stiles. One easy incline up a track at the start of the walk to get up on to Mare Way; otherwise all downhill or on the flat.

The full route is 4.5 miles but for anyone who wants a shorter walk there is an option to do only 3 miles with an easy-to-follow shortcut back to the start from the tea break at Eversden Village Hall (where plenty of outside seating).
