To take part please phone Dieter on 01223 527763 or text him on 07445 807650, giving your name and phone number.   We start at 10am from “Cabbages”  which can be found on Explorer Map 195 at Grid Ref. 649 371; or CB10 2NY on Satnav will get you nearby.  The walk is along pleasant paths with attractive vistas, through a field with horses to Great Sampford parish church, where we usually have a coffee stop.  Then back along a different path.

Suggested route from Cambridge – allowing some 40 minutes:  take A1307 through Linton and turn right at sign to Bartlow /The Camps; at Bartlow turn right to Ashdon; then left opposite the Rose & Crown, signed to Radwinter / Gt Sampford, and drive some 2½ miles along a windy road.  At the Radwinter crossroads turn left along B1054 to Hempstead, and at the Bluebell Inn turn sharp right up a hill and continue some 1½ miles along another windy, rather narrow road.  Cabbages is on the left, shortly after crossing a brook.  There is limited parking on the road, so it would be helpful to share cars.

Additional information:  Covid-19 is still with us and we must be very careful.  Please do not join the walk if you have any symptoms, such as a headache, a strong feeling of tiredness, a sore throat or a cough.  In fact it is probably best not to join us if you feel at all unwell.
