We start at 10am from “Cabbages” (Explorer Map 195 at GR649371; or CB10 2NY will get you nearby), and walk along pleasant paths with beautiful vistas of cornfields and horse paddocks.  Distance about 5 miles.

Suggested route from Cambridge (takes 45 minutes): A1307 through Linton and turn right at sign to Bartlow and The Camps; continue and then take right to Ashdon; then left (opposite the Rose & Crown pub) signed to Radwinter and Great Sampford; drive some distance along windy, undulating road.  At the crossroads turn left and continue to Hempstead and at the Bluebell Inn pub, turn sharp right up the hill and continue 1.4 miles along a windy, narrow road.  “Cabbages” is on the left shortly after crossing a brook.  There is limited parking on the road, so it would be helpful to share cars.
