Park at Sainsbury’s, Coldhams Lane, Cambridge CB1 3HP, right at the far end of the overflow car park (furthest away from the recycling bins), or use bike racks in main car park.   The walk will be 4 miles.  Starting at 10am, we’ll walk to the East Barnwell Nature Reserve and explore some of the paths, then cross Barnwell Road into Coldhams Common.  We’ll continue through a woodland path and into the Common where we’ll walk along the perimeter and back via paths through coppices and along a stream to the Community Farm, exiting onto Barnwell Road, close to Sainsbury’s.  Long trousers might be advisable because of nettles.

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than 6 people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must follow the guidelines below:

This walk is limited to 12 people.  Places must booked in advance with the leader, Penny, on landline 01223 527763.  Please leave a message on the answerphone if no reply, giving your name and phone number. Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘Test and Trace’ purposes, then deleted.   Please also let us know beforehand if you have any queries or a change of plan, and on the day if delayed please phone mobile 07443 429865.   The Risk Assessment shows no matters of concern and Penny can show it to you if you wish; it will be kept for one year.  Social-distancing on the walk is required, and please make sure that you bring a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can shared beyond households.  Please do not come on the walk if you feel even slightly ill.
