Change of area to Chesterton / Baits Bite Lock, instead of Hardwick Wood.  Unfortunately Hardwick Wood is much too muddy for rambling because trees have been felled and the paths churned up.  Therefore the walk area is changed to be from Chesterton to Baits Bite Lock and back.  Meet at the small car park by the River Cam and next to the former Pike and Eel pub (now replaced by new houses) on Water Street, Cambridge (CB4 1PA).  Starting at 10am, we will walk to Baits Bite Lock along the towpath, then cross the footbridge over the river and return via Fen Ditton (approx. 5 miles).  If towpath flooded, we’ll use the footbridge at Chesterton and walk to Fen Ditton and back (approx. 4 miles).    If any queries, please phone Gertraud on 01223 263265.
