Sunday C, Grantchester
May 16 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Starting at 10am, we’ll walk to the river Cam and follow the river to Grantchester where we take mostly wide grassy tracks around Grantchester and along fields, with views across the countryside and towards Cambridge. We reach Cambridge passing the Model Railway (currently closed) and continue back to the start. Distance, approx. 5 miles.
Please park at the end of King’s Road, off Barton Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DY. Pull up on the pavement at left, with College sports grounds across the road on the right.
This walk is limited to 12 people. Places must be booked in advance with the leader, Penny on 01223 527763. Please give your name and phone number. Your details will be held for 21 days for NHS Covid-19 ‘Test and Trace’ purposes, then deleted. Please let Penny know beforehand if you have any queries or a change of plan; and on the day, if delayed, please phone 07443 429865. A copy of the Risk Assessment will be available if you wish to see it, and it will be kept for one year. There is some slightly uneven ground in a few places, and we’re following the Cam along wide grassy paths across fields, before other walkers become more numerous.
Please note these additional requirements:
In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.
No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
More details related to taking part in and leading Club walks in a Covid-19 environment are posted on the CRC website, under ‘Members’. Please have another look at these before you come on the walk.
