Sunday C, Coton
January 3 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
From Cambridge take the A1313 Madingley Road, and about half-a-mile from the M11 junction turn left onto the Cambridge Road to Coton; pass the Garden Centre on the left, continue and in Coton turn right into the High Street, drive past St Peter’s Church and continue to near the end of the road. Cars should park on the left, spaced out and without blocking driveways.
The walk is about 4.5 miles. Starting at 10am we’ll walk on a gravel path through a short stretch of woodland and then on pleasant grassy bridleways. There are a couple of gentle inclines on the way to Hardwick, with good views; otherwise it is mainly a level walk. Inevitably there will be some mud, but not too much.
As approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must follow the guidelines below:
— This walk is limited to 12 people, with two well-spaced subgroups of 6. Places must be booked in advance with the leader, Dieter, on 01223 527763. Please give your name and phone number. Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘Test and Trace’ purposes, then deleted. Please let me know beforehand if you have any queries or a change of plan, and on the day if delayed please phone mobile 07445 807650.
— Please do not come on the walk if you feel even slightly ill, or if you are coming from a Tier 4 area, or another Tier 3 area.
— Dieter will have a copy of the Risk Assessment with him if you wish to see it and it will be kept for one year. There are no matters of concern.
— Social-distancing on the walk is required, and please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; ensure you have suitable footwear, clothing and other items taking account of the weather; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households.
