WATERBEACH TO ANGLESEY ABBEY DIRECTIONS 13 June 2021

Waterbeach street parking, Greenside, Waterbeach, CB25 9HP

From Cambridge take the A10 north past Milton and take the first turning to Waterbeach, Car Dyke Road, on the right.  Follow this road, which becomes Cambridge Road and then Chapel Street, until you reach the village green on your left.  Park on the green at Waterbeach TL495 653.

Let me know if you plan to arrive by train, so we can collect you as we pass the station.

The walk is 11 miles, with a picnic lunch at Anglesey Abbey. Toilets will be available outside the entrance, but there is no access to the café unless you’ve booked in advance to enter the property, so please bring enough food and drinks for the day. There is one path with a lot of nettles, near the end of the walk.

Additional Information

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than 6 people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with contact details. Please text or phone the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of your text! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted. The maximum number of people allowed on any walk is 30.

No one should come on the walk if you feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidelines members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
