Sunday B Walk from St Ives fig of 8

June 21, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

This walk is about 10/11 miles, about equal length morning and afternoon. In the morning we walk to Houghton Mill, where we can have coffee at the NT cafe, going there via Hemingford Meadow to look at the wild flowers. We will eat our sandwiches by the river just as we get back into St Ives and can have a drink at the Oliver Cromwell pub.  In the afternoon we walk along the guided busway to Fen Drayton Lakes, then back along the river.

The walk starts from the Oliver Cromwell statue in Market Hill, St. Ives PE27 5AL at 10 am. Parking is free on Sundays in Market Hill (main street).

At junction 26 of the A14 from Cambridge to Huntingdon, exit left and at the roundabout go left onto the A1096 toward St lves.  Take 2nd exit at the next roundabout, staying on the A1096.  At next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Meadow Lane.  Turn left into Cromwell Place.  Take the 2nd right onto Market Hill.  The grid reference is TL313713.

There is an option to travel by the guided bus which leaves Drummer street at 9.20a.m. and arrives at the Bus Station in St. Ives at 9.56 a.m. If you plan to use this bus, please let me know so we can wait a little longer for you. Also, if you then change your mind please let me know, so we don’t wait unnecessarily.
