The walk starts from the Oliver Cromwell statue in Market Hill, St. Ives at 10 am. Parking is free on Sundays in Market Hill (main street). At junction 26 of the A14 from Cambridge to Huntingdon, exit onto A1096 toward St lves.  At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on A1096.  Go through 1 roundabout.  At next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Meadow Lane.  Turn left into Cromwell Place.  Take the 2nd right onto Market Hill.  The grid reference is 313713.

The walk is a figure of 8 and the morning is 6 miles with a coffee stop at Houghton Mill tea rooms where drinks and snacks can be bought. Toilets are available for those buying food/drink.  Lunch – own sandwiches sitting by river or buy food/drink from any of the cafes and pubs in St Ives.  The afternoon walk also starts from the Oliver Cromwell statue and is 5.5 miles.
