Meet at Thorpe Wood Golf Course Car Park. Thorpe Wood, Longthorpe, Peterborough PE3 6SQ at 10am
From Cambridge, take A14 and A1 North. Exit at Junction 17 to Peterborough A1139 Fletton Parkway. Keep taking left lanes which emerge as you drive along A1139, but don’t exit until you come to the 3rd one for Peterborough city centre. Take the first exit to A1260, get into the middle lane (the left lane will become a slip lane soon after). After the bridge over River Nene, take the slip road to the roundabout 33 (City Centre), take the first exit to Thorpe Wood. In about ¼ mile, you will find Woodman pub on the left and the car park on the right. Meet near the entrance/exit of the car park. Grid reference 159981.
Ferry Meadows Country Park, Peterborough to Castor Hanglands Nature reserve 11 miles via Milton Park (with Gothic kennel) and Castor (with beautiful church) . Please bring picnic lunch. No pub at the right time but there is a chance to stop for a cup of tea near the end at the visitor centre.
