Direction:  From Cambridge, take A14 and A1 North. Exit at Junction 17 to Peterborough A1139 Fletton Parkway. Keep taking left lanes which emerge as you drive along A1139, but don’t exit until you come to the 3rd one for Peterborough city center. After the bridge over River Nene, take the slip road to the roundabout 33 (City Center), take the first exit to Thorpe Wood.  In about ¼ mile, you will find Woodman pub on the left and the car park on the right. Meet near the entrance/exit of the car park.

Walk: 11-12 miles.  Nene Valley from Ferry Meadows, Peterborough to Wansford,

In the morning, we walk from Ferry Meadows along Nene Valley to Wansford Nene Valley Railway station (steam trains) for lunch at the picnic site. If we are lucky, the kiosk under the marquee opens and sells hot and cold drinks and pre packed snacks and cakes. You will need a mask if the toilet facility inside is open or you wish to visit the gift shop .  In the afternoon, we come back via Castor and Milton estate.

I accept up to 11 people (12 including myself). Please phone my home telephone to book: 01733 331552. On the day of the walk, you can contact me on my mobile 07453537763 (no message please).
