FromCambridge, take the A428 towards St Neots, turn right at the roundabout signed to B1428 & St Neots.

Follow the road through the new estate, under the railway bridge then right at the roundabout signed Little Paxton. Follow the road past the station, go over 2 mini roundabouts, at the cross road ontoMill Lane, then right at traffic lights at T-junction. Continue to next T-junction, turn right signed B1041, A1 & nature reserve. Take 2nd right signed nature reserve into Little Paxton Lane. Follow this road to the Reserve car park. Satnavs use PE19 6ET. Grid ref is TL195629.

An alternative route is along the A14 & left on the A1 & your satnav will probably take you this way unless you ask it for an alternative! The A428 route is shorter & takes about the same time.

After leaving Paxton Pits we head north for lunch near The Horseshoe Inn, Offord Darcy where drinks can be had before returning via The Ouse Valley Way. Approx 11.5 miles. There’s water everywhere but hopefully not underfoot or overhead. Plus a crossing of the East Coast mainline for train spotters. Toilets should be open at the start & finish at The Visitor Centre where a 60p cuppa can also be had.
