Take the A 428 from Cambridge (Madingley Rd.). Go straight over the Caxton Gibbet roundabout (junction with the A1198), then take the B1040, the 2nd turning on the left. Take the 2nd left off this to The Gransdens. In Great Gransden take the left fork at the triangular green, towards Little Gransden and follow the Main Road.
Park at The Chequers pub car park – on the right on the main road, past the church. Please only park along the side furthest away from the road, leaving the side next to the road for other customers.
We can eat our sandwiches in the pub garden, or inside if it’s wet.
We should see bluebells in Waresely Wood and oxslips in Hayeley Wood, possible also early purple orchids. If it rains much before the walk it will be muddy, particularly in the afternoon.
