Lemsford to Wheathampstead

Lemsford layby, Marford Road, Lemsford, Herts AL8 7XE

From the A505 (Royston/Baldock) join the A1(M) at junction 9.

Leave the A1(M) at junction 4.

At end of slip road and traffic lights take first road on the left.

At next roundabout take the first left to go under the bridge.

At next roundabout take 3rd exit (B653) towards Wheathampstead/Harpenden.

After 0.8 mile parking is on the left in a large layby (look out for sign P 100yds just before).

Please note that postcode is for Crooked Chimney pub on left past parking in layby.

The walk is approx. 11 miles going through the Brocket Park Estate to Ayot St. Lawrence.

Lunch in the park at Wheathampstead, drinks at The Bull pub nearby.

The afternoon walk goes along the Lea Valley path, passing by Brocket Hall.
