Take A14 East to junction 42 before Bury St Edmunds. Take 4th exit onto B1106 to Westley. After Westley go straight on at staggered cross roads (right and left). Turn left onto A143. Take next right (almost V turn) onto B1066 through Whepstead and Brockley to Hartest, At green and village sign turn right (signpost to Somerton) and car park is immediately on right behind Hartest & Boxted Institute (private car park open to public).

The walk is a figure of 8, 10.55 miles, 5.25am and 5.3pm passing through Somerton and Boxted, sandwiches on village green with a drink at The Crown, Hartest,
