Sunday B Walk from Ferry Meadows, Peterborough

Ferry Meadows Peterborough to Wansford Nene Valley Rail Station: 12 miles
Start from Thorpe Wood Golf Course car park opposite Woodman pub, Thorpe Wood, PE3 6SQ Peterborough. GR: 158981
From Cambridge, take A14 and A1 North. Exit at Junction 17 to Peterborough A1139 Fletton Parkway. Keep taking left lanes which emerge as you drive along A1139, but don’t exit until you come to the 3rd one for Peterborough city center. Take the first exit to A1260, get into the middle lane (the left lane will become a slip lane soon after). After the bridge over River Nene, take the slip road to the roundabout 33 (City Center), take the first exit to Thorpe Wood. In about ¼ mile, you will find Woodman pub on the left and the car park on the right. Meet near the exit/entrance of the car park.
Walk through Milton Estate and village of Castor with the beautiful St Kyneburgh church (lots of wooden angels and fresco of St Catherine) to Wansford Nene valley railway station, back along river Nene to Ferry Meadows Country Park.
