If entering Cottenham from Histon, pass the village green and continue along the High street, following its sharp right turn by the club, a white building, and keep on the High Street until a mini roundabout with a patch of grass on the left. Take the left hand turn and keep going, ignoring two right hand turns into housing, until reaching Broad lane on the right.  Turn right down Broad Lane and in a short while you will reach a small layby/car park on the right, with a footpath sign nearby on the left, and a big grassy field next to it. There is a small bridge just beyond.

The distance of the walk is around 10/11 miles and will start at 10.00. The morning will be a long one of around 7/8 miles with a short afternoon of 2/3 miles. It is likely to be muddy in places.
