Red Lion Pub car park, 32 High Street, Hinxton, Cambridge CB10 1QY
Take A11 to Stump Cross then A1301. Turn left to Hinxton and Ickleton. Take first turn on right into Hinxton High Street. Pub is on right side.
If coming from Cambridge, take A1301 from Trumpington past Shelford, Stapleford and Sawston. At roundabout with A505 take 2nd exit on A1301 and take 1st turn on right into Hinxton. Turn left into Hinxton High Street and Red Lion pub will be on left side. Please share cars if this is possible. Anyone walking only and not staying for annual lunch should park in the High Street.
The B walk, 5.5 miles, will leave at 10.00 and the C walk, 4.25 miles at 10.15. The walks use permissive paths on the Hinxton Research Centre Campus, visit the wetlands area, see the village of Ickleton, cross or follow the River Cam or Granta past Hinxton Mill and back through Hinxton to the pub. There will be train spotting opportunities as we cross or follow the Liverpool Street Line.
After the walk there is a 2 or 3 course lunch at the Red Lion pub with menu choices and cheques to Sue Northrop by 30 December for a guaranteed place. After this date it may be possible to fit in someone who has missed the deadline.
