Jill has given these instructions and description, it is a good walk in an area we rarely walk.

Parking is alongside the B671 (north-south road through Elton village); generally best on the east side, fairly close to the pub (The Black Horse) (but not in its car park!), GR 089935. Meet by the church. To get there from Cambridge: A14 west, A1 north and take the A605 west (probably signposted Oundle). Elton is signposted to the right after 3 miles. Without traffic hold-ups the journey takes around 45-50 minutes from Cambridge.

The walk visits Wansford, Old Sulehay Forest, Woodnewton (lunch) and Fotheringhay. Lots of history, wonderful limestone villages more reminiscent of the Cotswolds than Cambridgeshire and excellent footpaths.
