Harvey Road 8.45. If going direct, park in Hexton, which is signposted just off the Hitchin to Barton-le-Clay road B655, when you see the pub but before you get to it, GR 107305, be there by 9.30.

The walk uses bits of the John Bunyan Trail and the Icknield Way and includes some excellent hillwalking on the chalk grasslands of the Barton Hills (National Nature Reserve) and Pegsdon Hills (Wildlife Trust). The lunchtime pub is the Live and let Live at Pegsdon.
