Sunday A walk Newmarket July Racecourse

Start time: 9.30 ready to walk
Start and Parking:
The parking and start are on the dead end road on the north side of the ‘horse statue’ roundabout, SW of Newmarket (junction of A1303 and A1304). Drive along to near the Devil’s Dyke to park, grid ref 618614. There is a sign at the roundabout to the National Stud, Post code CB8 0XE, and Newmarket July Racecourse.

Walk distance: 15 miles
Walk details: The walk includes the northern section of the Devil’s Dyke, over to Burwell, for a stop by the castle ruins, then a loop over to Landwade church for lunch, with the return walk back through Exning and finally across Newmarket Heath. Hopefully not too much mud!
Refreshments: No refreshments at lunch time, so please bring all provisions for the day.
