We will meet in Anglesey Abbey car park, just by the entrance to the overflow car park. Please note no National Trust card will be necessary as we will not be entering the Abbey grounds. After all the rain we have had, part of the route may be quite muddy, so boots and walking sticks will be useful.
We will head off from the car park to Lode Mill and then cross the bridge over Quy Water. We then walk along by the side of the water for about 2 miles. This path can get muddy. At the end of it, we will turn sharp right onto a track over fields through avenues of trees and pleasant countryside, which will take us back to Lode Mill. The distance is about 4.5 – 5 miles.
There is no short cut as such, but there is the possibility of turning back and retracing your steps along the path next to Quy Water to make a walk of 4 miles. There will be a coffee break in the fields and when we get back to the car park, there is the chance to enter Anglesey Abbey and use the café.
