Walk length: The walk is approximately 7.25 miles, 4.25 miles before lunch.

Walk details: The morning walk is fairly flat and on good paths. After lunch, we have a short steep climb up the road, Chapel Hill. There is no path or verge so care must be taken on this stretch as cars can whizz down the hill. The route then skirts the edge of Barrington quarry and the path will be muddy in places (I found a walking pole a great help). Then downhill back into Barrington on decent paths & good views. No stiles.

Meeting place and parking: Recreation Ground Car Park, High Street, Barrington. There is also a car park beside All Saints Church opposite) CB22 7RE

Directions from Cambridge: Follow Trumpington Road (A1134) out towards the M11. After crossing the M11, this becomes the A10. Soon after the village sign for Foxton (and before the level crossing), turn right opposite the Power petrol station, signposted Barrington. At the crossroads with the High Street, go straight on into the entrance to the car park for the Recreation Ground. This is opposite the church.

Alternatively take the Barton Road, A 603, turning left to Haslingfield. In Haslingfield, take a right turn up Chapel Hill to Barrington. The car park for the Recreation Ground is on your right as you reach the village green in Barrington.

Lunch arrangements: Lunch will be at The Mohak Café, 11A Church Street, Haslingfield, CB23 1JE. Please see the menu below – breakfast menu is served all day.

Dogs are not allowed in the café, but dog owners can eat at the outside tables which are under an awning at the front of the café.

The church opposite the café is a good place for picnickers.
