B Morning Walks: Trumpington or Longstanton

General walk information:

BAM walks are between 5 ½ and 6 ½ miles and walked at a pace of about 3 miles/hr. We begin at 10.00 prompt (unless otherwise stated) and usually finish between 12.30-1.00 pm. There are two walks available each week. Please let the leader know you are coming by sending them a text (or call). We hope the number of walkers will be 12 or less and at the leader’s discretion. We do not stop for lunch but there is normally a short break for a drink etc.

Walk A: Trumpington PNR

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: Trumpington PNR is just of Hauxton Road close to M11 Junction CB29FT Maps – Trumpington – Cambridge park & ride (cambridgeparkandride.info)

We will walk across Trumpington Meadows, towards Grantchester and then along Grantchester Meadows into Newnham where we will stop for coffee. We will return by a similar route via Granchester Meadows, Grantchester and Trumpington Meadows.

Walk B: Longstanton-Rampton

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: walk starts from the Longstanton Guided Bus Park and Ride car park.  The address is Station Road, Longstanton, CB24 3DS.  The walk starts by going through Northstowe and by the newly formed lake which has been landscaped.  It continues to Rampton where we will stop for coffee on the Green.  The paths are very good and unlikely to be muddy.

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.

Please text the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of the text! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted. The maximum number of people allowed on any walk is 30.

No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
