Pre-COVID-19, arrangements for the Wednesday B all-day group were as listed below.
The Wednesday B walk is around 6.5 to 8 miles long, starting at 10.15am and generally finishing around 14.30 to 15.00pm. There is a 10 minute stop mid morning for a refreshment/comfort break. The lunch stop is normally at a pub or you can bring a packed lunch which can sometimes be eaten in the pub garden providing a drink is purchased; otherwise there is an alternative place for packed lunches to be eaten. The walking speed is up to 2.5mph, giving time to take in the surrounding countryside and enjoy the views.
Provided lockdown restrictions are eased on 29 March 2021 as planned, there will be an informal group walk each week (maximum size of 6 people including the leader). Walks have been planned for four Wednesdays in April at present (7, 14, 21 and 28) with distances between 5.5 and 7 miles. The starting time may vary from that given above. Current policy is to take a packed lunch unless advised otherwise by the leader.
Our aim is to provide outline details of walks for the following month to group members in advance and they must contact the leader beforehand to confirm their attendance. If there is sufficient demand and availability of leaders, it may be possible to have more than one group (of six) walking on a Wednesday.
It is likely that there will be a return to larger group walks later in the summer depending on the progress with lockdown easing and the wishes of the group members.
The group secretaries can provide details of forthcoming walks to anyone interested. Please call either Sue Knowles (07928 312678) or Geoff Hale (0775 148 3715). Alternatively, email – email@example.com
