As advertised in the current newsletter, the Club is organising a week’s walking along the fabulous Pembrokeshire coast path in May 2018. We initially booked two adjacent self-catering properties just outside Newport, near Fishguard, the Old Rectory and Retreat Cottage for our exclusive use. The 16 beds here are almost all taken – just a couple of reservations to be confirmed. But, owing to general interest, we have now booked another property in Newport – Uplands. With 4 bedrooms this provides additional space for 6 people. So if you would like to join us please contact Jill; the deposit is £45 and the week’s total charge is £150. You can also book your own accommodation in Newport, where there is a youth hostel, B&Bs and smaller self-catering properties. As in recent years, we plan to book a private coach to enable us to walk linear stretches of this fabulous coastal route. But we may also be able to take advantage of the ‘coastal hopper’ buses which call in at almost every bay with road access. During the week we should be able to walk from St Dogmael’s, near Cardigan, round to Broadhaven Bay. Please contact Jill if you are interested in joining us as we welcome more people to keep per capita transport costs down! Public transport from Cambridge involves train travel to Fishguard, then the coast bus.
