Hills and Hollows Nature Reserve, Wittering Road, Barnack, PE9 3EY

From Cambridge take the A14 west towards Huntingdon and take the A1 north. After Wansford take the A47 exit signed Peterborough & Leicester. Follow the A47 towards Peterborough North. Turn left at sign Southorpe & Ufford into Sutton Heath Road; continue through Southorpe to Barnack.

Come into Barnack on Walcott Road, at cross road turn left into Wittering Road, after a short distance Hills and Hollows Car Park is on the left (TF 074048).  Parking is limited so, if possible, car sharing will help.

The Hills and Hollows Nature Reserve is rich in wildlife with oxslips and pasque flowers.  The walk will go through the villages of Barnack. Ufford, Helpstone & Bainton along good paths and quiet lanes.  Lunch will be in Helpstone, sandwiches on the village green before the Bluebell Pub for further refreshment.  Helpstone is the home of the poet John Clare but unfortunately his house is closed on Sundays.   Distance is 10 miles, 5am 5pm.
