Walking in France – recommendation for Bonjour Walks

Mary Corbett, CRC walker, has been on two walks arranged by Colin and Bridget Cooper and thoroughly recommends them. She says that the distances walked can be adapted to suit. Mary says that they are extremely nice people and you stay in lovely places which are arranged in advance. The Coopers will put on a holiday for a bespoke group of four or more people or you can join another group (not more than 12).

Bonjour Walks take place in central France along the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail, a total of six days walking. The countryside is lovely, rising to the summit of Mont Lozère at 1699 meters.  Accommodation is in small family run hotels or chambre d’hôtes where good French cuisine awaits walkers at the end of the day.
The walks are run by Colin and Bridget Cooper who provide all necessary support including the booking of accommodation, meeting and return to Clermont airport if required, daily transporting of baggage and help should there be any health problems or accidents.
Walkers need to pay (2014 costs):
·     Dinner, bed and breakfast : euros 380 per person (sharing) or euros 490 (single)
·      Picnics
·      Travel to and from the walk in central France
·     Insurance

The Coopers require no fee whatsoever for their services but instead ask that walkers send a donation to Voluntary Service Overseas.
